About Olds Cool Veedubbers
How it all started

Olds Cool Veedubbers is the creation of my passion for Volkswagens. My name is Lee. I'm 28 and I live in the town of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire in the East Midlands.  I work in administration for The Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition.  As far as I can remember I have always liked them.  My first interest being those funny looking, noisy cars Beetles.  I can remember my Auntie owning a pale blue Beetle.  I loved the look of it and the great noise it gave out.

I passed my driving test aged 21.  I purchased my first car: a 1991 MK2 Golf Driver. I still drive it as my first and only car today.  It's now covered 143,800 miles.  I bought it from my brother for 950,00 GBP.  Since having it I've fitted various accessories, mostly being for a visual upgrade.  It now has GTI side door mouldings, 4 light de-badged grill with crystal clear headlights, de-badged rear valance, crystal clear smoked rear lights, bee-sting aerial, smoked side repeaters, re-furbished 15" Sebring G60 alloys, front centre arm rest, G60 leather steering wheel, lowered 40mm with GTI gas shocks and G60 top mounts, GTI lower front spoiler, interior door cards/roof/rear quarters all sprayed black, black gti sun visor/clips/roof handles, leather look seat covers, JVC face off CD player, Sony front door speakers and JBL rear speakers.  There's not much else I wants to do to it now.  I'm looking at saving up to buy a good condition, low mileage, 1991 GTI MK2 and any type of old style Beetle as a weekend driver.

I started going to VW shows around the UK. First off was Utterly Vee Dubberly, Dub Freeze, then Stanford Hall, GTI International and so on.

The Vdubs site is very new and only started in July 2004. I need your help in making it even better. I need your ideas, stories, pictures and more.

If you are passionate about VW's and are lucky enough to own one then please contact me as I'd love to hear from you.

Thank you for your time and for reading this page. I hope I can look forward to hearing from you soon.
